No. Linguaskill Remote is only for candidates living or staying in the Republic of Korea, and you must be in the country on the day of the test. Registering from abroad is fine. You can sit it anywhere quiet and private — your home or an office. The exam regulations set out the full requirements for the room and the conditions.

Remote testing is for candidates aged 18 and over. This is a Cambridge rule and there are no exceptions. Candidates aged 16 and 17 can take Linguaskill at a venue with guardian consent.

Install the dedicated browser and complete the technical check — ideally at least 24 hours before your test. Without the dedicated browser the test will not open at all. The technical check does not require a login, so it is worth doing early. We have put together a walkthrough of the test screens so you know what to expect.

You can take only the modules you need — Reading & Listening, Writing and Speaking are taken separately. Depending on how you register, the modules are either fixed by the institution running the session or chosen by you on the registration form. Each module is reported separately, along with an average score and CEFR level across the modules you took.

You have four hours from the start time given in your confirmation email to finish every module you registered for. Starting late does not extend the deadline, so finish your preparation in advance and log in on time.

Before you start you take a photo of your face, photograph or upload the ID you registered with, and scan the room 360 degrees with your webcam. The test is recorded, an AI proctoring system reviews the recording, and a person checks it at the end. Covering the text on your ID with a finger, or deliberately hiding part of the room, is treated as malpractice.

No. Once the test starts you cannot leave your seat, so use the bathroom beforehand. You must be alone in the room. If anyone else appears on camera, no result is issued.

Results appear 6–8 days after the test on the Cambridge English Test Portal (Metrica). We do not send a separate score report. Log in with the same username, password and Institution ID you used to take the test. If the recording review raises anything to check, it can add up to 10 days.

Linguaskill does not send a paper certificate. You view and download a digital certificate in Metrica instead. When sending your result to an organisation, use the sharing function in Metrica. Cambridge advises recognising organisations to accept only results sent through the Results Verification Service.

You can re-sit any module as many times as you like, and you only need to re-sit the modules you want to improve. The My Best Score feature then lets you select your highest score in each module to download and share. For a re-sit to be linked to your earlier result you must use the same login and sit it under the same Institution ID. Taking it under a different account creates a separate, unlinked result.

Only Speaking and Writing can be submitted for an Enquiry on Results. Reading and Listening are adaptive — the questions follow your answers — so they are not eligible. The centre submits the enquiry on your behalf, and it must reach Cambridge within 28 days of the test date. A response is returned to the centre within 21 calendar days. There is a fee, refunded if the enquiry moves your CEFR level up or down. Your result can go up, go down or stay the same.

They stay in Metrica indefinitely. The organisation receiving your result may still set its own limit, so check the requirements of the institution you are applying to.
